It's Raining, It's Pouring, but the Colts and Saints Aren't Snoring
I'm no weather man and I'm no meteorologist, but I know bad weather when I see it. And let me tell you, Miami is feeling the full force of it.
For those select people that managed to stay awake last night during the NFL's attempt at entertainment, you may have noticed the forming weather patterns that were growing more and more intense as the night went on.
Clouds, darkness, and an overall dull feeling was the vibe felt through the television, and at the moment the weather is shaping up to produce the same vibe come this Sunday.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Miami, Florida normally a fine place filled with rays of sunlight, beautiful beach bodies and glorious days that draw tourists from all over the world, is currently experiencing a rain storm like no other. As the big game draws near, and both teams are undergoing the usual pre-Super Bowl questioning, commissioner Roger Goodell may be left with an uneasy feeling for the remainder of this week as he eagerly keeps an eye on the storm.
Normally, this type of weather would excite NFL fans. We all love seeing a wet and sloppy game filled with hard hits, turnovers and loose footballs right? Right. But when the two teams that are set to compete both originate from a dome atmosphere, well it leaves a bit of doubt in the minds of spectators and NFL stock holders who have more than just interest riding on this game.
Not to fear though, if Peyton can adjust to the Saints raging defense, surely he can adjust to the weather that mother nature dishes out to him. Drew Brees on the other hand is much the same. With no injuries as of yet (touch wood), Brees will adjust to weather, and if anything, may actually strive off of the conditions.
Offensive line and defensive play on the other hand, may just be a different story. Watch any football game for the past or the present, and you'll take quick note of the fact that lineman either strive, or fail. There is no in between.
In six days time, expect to see a sack fest, particularly if a downpour occurs. With Colts defensive end Dwight Freeney still listed as questionable, Saints front men Sedrick Ellis and Bobby McCray have had rather quiet postseasons, but Miami may just be the location for them to come out all guns blazing.
Rain, hail or shine, expect both teams to still go full throttle. It's in their nature. Articles have been written in the past about dome teams being "soft" and "pushovers", but you only need to look at the fact that three out of the four remaining playoff teams played in a dome in the 2009 season, to know that the statement is a lie.
I'm not predicting another Ice Bowl, heck, I'm not even predicting that it will be raining. That is for the gods to decide. If it turns out to be pouring though, the festivities may be ruined, but the game sure won't be. For those fans that are neutral about the outcome, then Super Bowl 44 is the game for you, especially if we see the down pour continue.
Just keep an eye on the weather channel, and try and pray for sunshine. Sun Life Stadium is great at night, and it would be a shame to see a surefire blockbuster game turned into a lackluster one all thanks to the rain. At the moment though, just sit tight, at least we aren't the ones playing, right?
