Why Hasn't Nazr Mohammed Been Penciled In As The Starting Center?
Nazr Mohammed should be the starting center for the Bobcat's. He has way better number then Tyson Chandler (who couldn't seem to catch the ball these last few games). Mohammed had his second highest point total of the year Saturday night in just 27 minutes of play.
I asked Assisted Coach Herb Brown during an interview last month in Philly what seemed to be the problem with Chandler? He stated "In defense of Chandler, he's coming off knee surgery, he's in a new system & it's going to take him a while to adjust to what we're trying to do here in Charlotte".
This means we get to see Nazr Mohammed starting for the bobcats who should bring much needed production in the paint.
Nazr on Saturday night vs. OKC finished with 16 points (7-of-10 FG, 2-of-4 FT), grabbed eight rebounds, blocked a shot and got a steal.
My question is this; why does Larry Brown continue to not start Mohammed? I mean am i really missing something about this situation?
I just don't understand how you can have a guy coming on the bench who has stepped up his game this season and is playing much better then your starting center.
Mohammed spoke with the media after a team practice last week.
"I look at it this way we are team mates. "And at the end of the day if a big man goes off on us their not going to say he went on on Tyson, they will say he went off on both if us, Charlotte bigs".
He went on to say;
"Tyson is a veteran, he knows what he needs to do. "And i just tell him to keep on doing what your doing".
"He's coming off not playing for months, and some people are looking to far into it, but he's knows what to do, he's been in it long enough".
All my questions still remain. Why is Nazr not in the starting lineup on a regular basic?
In order for Brown to get the much needed production out of his BIG men he has to make lineup changes and switch Nazr and Tyson.
