Colts Vs. Jaguars: Week 15 Thursday Night Fantasy Football Preview

Kevin RobertsDec 17, 2009

We know it's hard to prepare your fantasy starting lineups for the playoffs, which is why we do our best to give you the heads up on players going into Thursday night games, feeding you the information you need to make the right decisions.

The following guys are must-starts for Week 15 in fantasy football :

Peyton Manning, Reggie Wayne, Dallas Clark, Joseph Addai, and Maurice Jones Drew

However, there are some other guys that you may or may not feel inclined to play, and if you're on the fence about whether or not they can help you get to the next round, it's our duty to ease your concerns.

Here's a look at all the other top options for the Jacksonville Jaguars and Indianapolis Colts:

Indianapolis Colts

RB Donald Brown

The Colts shouldn't have any issues running the ball, but with the great success Joseph Addai continues to have, as well as Brown's small role, the former UConn product just doesn't possess any real fantasy value right now.

He could be a decent stash next week as the Colts likely start to rest their starters, but he more than likely belongs on your waiver wire.

Prediction: 4 att, 16 yds, 0 TD, 1 rec, 7 yds, 0 TD

WR Pierre Garcon

Garcon continues to be Peyton Manning's go-to guy for the deep ball, especially with Reggie Wayne seeing constant double teams, and with a soft matchup against a beatable Jaguar's secondary, Garcon should once again pose as a quality WR3.

He's reached six catches and 100+ yards in two of his past four games, so while he can still be inconsistent, the reward should be worth the risk.

Prediction: 5 rec, 79 yds, 1 TD

WR Austin Collie

Like Garcon, Collie has been a consistent and fairly reliable WR3 this year in fantasy football, and that shouldn't stop against a weak Jaguars pass defense. Peyton Manning should go to work early and often, and could find Collie for a score inside the red zone, as he's done so in two straight weeks.

Collie has been a strict third or fourth option at best, but in Indy's offense, that's not necessarily a bad thing. While he's unlikely to breakout for big yardage this week, he has a decent chance to catch three to five balls and score, as he remains a quality WR3.

Prediction: 4 rec, 37 yds, 1 TD

Jacksonville Jaguars

QB David Garrard

Garrard has been inconsistent all season, as he started out fairly hot, and has really cooled down to a QB2 status. Outside of Mike Sims-Walker (if he's even healthy), Garrard doesn't have much to work with, as Torry Holt hasn't been good for a touchdown all season and is clearly regressing, while rookie Mike Thomas is inexperienced and unreliable.

Garrard still has the potential to get some points if Jacksonville is playing catch up, but recent poor outings suggest you go somewhere else at quarterback this week.

Prediction: 20-34, 266 yds, 1 TD, 2 INT

RB Rashad Jennings

Jennings was a hot Flex start earlier in the year after a couple of good games, but if you haven't figured it out by now, the Jaguars offense is very erratic and unpredictable, and the only thing that appears controlled is Maurice Jones-Drew's role in the offense.

You simply can't count on a guy who is backing up a stud, who touches the ball over 20 times per game.

Prediction: 4 att, 12 yds, 0 TD, 1 rec, 5 yds, 0 TD

WR Mike Sims-Walker

Sims-Walker was listed as doubtful all week last week, and while he played, he only managed to snag one catch for nine yards. MSW's status directly affects the rest of the offense, and the fact that he's being slowed down by injury brings his value way down, even if he plays again.

Monitor him leading up to the game tonight, but if you can find someone else to replace him, we suggest doing so. Collie or Garcon (above) could be decent fill-ins if needed, while Kansas City's Dwayne Bowe is returning and could have a field day against the 25th ranked Cleveland Browns pass defense.

Prediction: 4 rec, 46 yds, 0 TD

WR Torry Holt

Holt is still a smart player and quality route runner, but his speed isn't what it used to be, and his play-making ability is almost non-existent. It doesn't help that David Garrard has to run away from pass rushers with poor pass protection, but regardless of any excuses, there is no denying Holt is just a shell of his former self.

You should have figured that out by watching him decline last season. With no touchdowns all season, he's bound to find one game in the final three weeks where he gets into the end zone, but this is unlikely to be that week.

Prediction: 4 rec, 39 yds, 0 TD

WR Mike Thomas

Thomas is a talented rookie with good ball skills, but simply has been inconsistent, especially considering how little the Jaguars actually require him to be on the field. Jacksonville is a run-first team, and even when Thomas is on the field, he's no better than the Jaguars' fourth receiving option after MJD.

He's probably a WR4 right now, at the very best, and is only worth a look in deep leagues.

Prediction: 3 rec, 34 yds, 0 TD

TE Marcedes Lewis

The humility in Jacksonville's weak pass offense doesn't stop with Lewis. After a solid start to the 2009 season, Lewis has been consistently weak, and has only had one or two decent showings in his last 10 games. He ranks right up there with Mike Thomas, as a guy who has the ability to do some nice things, but just doesn't get the ball enough to make a difference.

He's on most leagues' waiver wires for a reason.

Prediction: 2 rec, 12 yds, 0 TD
