All The Things We Learned From Watching Soccer This Week
With my last articles getting decent reception, I decided to follow up with this one, a broader perspective covering most games played during the week, I didn't catch them all but I got a fair share of highlights and have decided what this week in soccer taught me and many others who observed some games.
1. Robinho is a luxury that Manchester City can definitely do without, since he came back from his long absence of the pitch, he has been unprofessional. Last night he was ghost-like on the pitch and tried a trick or two that failed.,I don't know if it is about his alleged transfer to Barcelona, but with the likes of Tevez and SWP stepping up, Robinho should be mailed to Barcelona ASAP.

2. Watch out USA, Milner and Lennon are here to stay. With the form of James Milner, he is currently on of the most underrrated players and if Capello decides to call him up, USA are in for a real fight. As for Lennon I know Sylvinho is old(35 years) but he was torn apart by Lennon who delivered the cross that led to the opener.
3. How in the world does Toure deserve to be captain of that Manchester City side with their porous defence that has not kept a clean sheet since November 9.
4. No team has won the league with five or more losses, looking at the league table,we are in for a treat because it means that the current contenders for the League are Chelsea, Aston Villa and Manchester City, then Arsenal and Manchester with four losses. I bet you that record will be broken, or fancy an unbeaten run by one of the five teams above or even Tottenham, gruesome thoughts.
5. Chelsea are looking less and less title favourites every passing game, having only conceeded 1 goal at Stamford Bridge,(shutting out Manchester United and Liverpool) they conceded four in their last two games, evn to Porstmouth who have yet to start the season(I mean 3 wins in 17 games , surely there has to be more coming).
6. Arsenal have once again thrown away the chance to get back fully into the title race and find themselves 8 points behind, not to worry with Chelsea's current form we will be at the top in very soon.
7. Conspiracy theories in the Wolves Camp as Mick McCarthy changed his te players from his best lineup for the game at Manchester United. His excuse? They would have lost anyway. How encouraging.
8. I'll take this time out to congratulate Pedro(not Barcelona) for his outstanding achievement yesterday, become the first player ever to score in the La Liga, Copa del Rey, UEFA Champions League, European Super Cup, Spanish Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup. Outstanding young player.
9. Oh, and before I forget, today Wenger confirmed that Fabregas is injured but not as bad as it first seemed, heard that story before? Yeah, that's what Van Persie said, fingers crossed, I hope Fabregas is injured for a day.9.Birmingham are awesome, it might be too early to judge but in December with these many fixtures, from the last 8 games, the have won 6, drawing 2 games( Manchester City and Liverpool). Do you know how many teams have a better record? No one.
10. Turf Moor is the hardest place to play in the league right now, they have lost 1 game there and only Chelsea are better with no losses.
11. Theo Walcott is so overrated, his only excuse now is match fitness, other than that he doesn't deserve to wear the no.14. The most related article I could find is this.
12. Almunia must go.
13. Antonio Valencia is looking more like a class act and a reasonable replacement for Ronaldo, he might not have the tricks but he gets the job done scoring 2 goals in his last 3 games in the Premier League.
14. What happened to Eduardo, he is looking less like the player he was, it it the formation? Or is he just plain junk.
15. Torres' goal-to-game ratio is 90.9%. No wonder Liverpool can't win without him.
Anyway that sit for now, Torres is back, maybe he can save Liverpool a Champions League spot and win the Europa League.
