WWE and AEW Strange Bedfellows: Creating Elite Tag Teams Mixing Both Rosters
Just days after an abysmal edition of the Royal Rumble, WWE fans are left to fantasy-book what matches and moments they'd like to see moving forward since it seems clear the company doesn't care about their opinion.
One popular fantasy-booking option is putting stars from both WWE and All Elite Wrestling into strange-bedfellow tag teams that could take over the Raw and SmackDown divisions. Dynamite and Rampage already heavily highlight tag team wrestling, but WWE could use a real infusion of duos creatively.
Here are the best possible combinations of WWE and AEW performers to form tag teams that could dominate, regardless of the company or show in which they're featured.

Modern-Day Dream Matches 💭

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
Undertaker and Darby Allin
The ultimate dream match that never came in recent wrestling history is Sting vs. Undertaker, but that could be fixed if Darby Allin shunned the mentorship of Sting and turned to the dark side with The Undertaker.
The Icon has been great for the 29-year-old's career, giving him a legitimate behind-the-scenes mentor and someone on-screen who can provide his character credibility with hardcore and casual fans alike.
Eventually, Allin must turn on Sting and become one of the most despised heels in the business, at least for a short time. One way to drive the dagger into the veteran's back would be to side with Undertaker.
The long-term booking would give Allin matches against and alongside two of the greatest legends in wrestling while also giving fans one final chance to get the ultimate supernatural dream match between Sting and The Deadman.
Jade Cargill and Sasha Banks
One of the most intriguing pairings would be Sasha Banks and Jade Cargill, who could replicate the dynamic that worked so well between Shawn Michaels and Diesel in the 1990s.
With The Boss taking on the role as the lead trash-talker, the duo could work in tandem as a tag team, while Banks continues her hunt for the women's world title, using Cargill's strength and size to help her hold on to the belt once she wins it.
After the duo wins gold in the women's tag team division—just as Banks did with Bayley in the past—The Boss can grow too arrogant and start taking advantage of Cargill, leading to the eventual face turn and a marquee feud between the two women.
Add in the possible return of Bayley to complicate the matter, and the tag team of Cargill and Banks would be money on paper. A feud that ends with Cargill finally earning the title from The Boss would be worthy of a WrestleMania main event.
'Hangman' Adam Page and Brock Lesnar
When Adam Page comes to the ring as the anxious Millennial cowboy, the fans in attendance adore him; when Brock Lesnar comes to the ring in a cowboy hat and a giant belt buckle, the fans in attendance adore him.
Combine their cowboy forces, and the duo would be the most destructive pairing in wrestling.
The Beast Incarnate has earned the reputation as a big-match player and an indestructible force, while Page has blossomed into a fresh champion who can lead AEW into the future. Couple the unique contrasts of size and style with the same off-the-grid mindset, and the two men would be a natural duo.
From sharing drinks at the bar to comparing hunting tales and pickup truck lift kits, the pair would become a cross between The Acolytes Protection Agency (Bradshaw and Faarooq) and The Blackjacks (Blackjack Mulligan and Blackjack Lanza) with a modern-day flavor unique to both men.
Two modern-day cowboys stomping a mudhole and walking it dry would be very entertaining.
