Masters Prize Money 2020: Total Purse Info for Augusta National Golf Club
The winner of the Masters Tournament gets more than a green jacket. While that's an illustrious honor, there's also a large amount of prize money to be handed out this weekend at Augusta National Golf Club.
While the official purse for this year has yet to be made official, it was $11.5 million at last year's tournament. The only major that had a larger purse this year is the U.S. Open, which handed out $12.5 million in September.
Last year, Tiger Woods earned $2.07 million for winning the tournament for the fifth time in his career and earning his first victory at a major since 2008. The 44-year-old is now looking to win the title for a second straight year, and he was the last golfer to achieve that feat, winning back-to-back green jackets in 2001 and 2002.
The golfers won't be the only ones to cash in on their Masters performances. Bettors also have an opportunity to make a profit this weekend if they can pick the right golfer to win or capitalize on prop bets.
Heading into Thursday's opening round, here's a look at the top golfers' odds to win this year's Masters.

There are a number of former Masters winners in this year's field, and some of them have decent odds to win again, including Tiger Woods (2019 winner), Patrick Reed (2018), Bubba Watson (2012 and 2014) and Adam Scott (2013).
However, many of this year's favorites are looking to win the green jacket and the first-place payout at Augusta National for the first time. And there's a decent chance one of them will end up doing so.
Bryson DeChambeau won the U.S. Open in September for his first major victory. He's never finished better than 21st in three Masters appearances, but he's had a breakout year in 2020 and will be looking to keep that form going.
No golfer has played as consistently well this year as Dustin Johnson, who enters as the world No. 1 His lone major win came at the 2016 U.S. Open, but he's had three second-place finishes at majors since then, including at last year's Masters. He has finished in the top 10 in each of his past four appearances at Augusta National.
Jon Rahm has yet to win a major tournament, but the 26-year-old has had some strong showings over the past three years. He's finished fourth and tied for ninth at the Masters the past two years, respectively, although he's finished outside the top 10 at each of the first two majors of 2020.
If Rory McIlroy can win this weekend, he'll become the sixth golfer to complete a career grand slam. He's won the U.S. Open (2011), Open Championship (2014) and PGA Championship (2012, 2014), but it's now been more than six years since his last victory at a major.
One thing the former Masters champions and those looking for their first green jacket have in common? This is a Masters unlike any before it. The tournament was postponed from April due to the coronavirus pandemic, and it's being held in November for the first time. And there also won't be fans in attendance, just like the first two majors of 2020.
"It's a different look. It's November, and I think everybody just has to embrace that we're here and we're playing and that's a great thing," McIlroy said, according to Doug Ferguson of the Associated Press.
But when these top golfers hit the green, it's going to be the same exciting, competitive action. Who will take home the top prize? And will it be somebody who bettors expected to do well or a surprise underdog? We'll soon find out.
