
Redskins' Montae Nicholson's Assault Charges Dropped over Insufficient Evidence
Washington safety Montae Nicholson is no longer facing misdemeanor assault charges.
According to Kareem Copeland of the Washington Post, Nicholson’s lawyer said the charges from a December incident were dropped because of insufficient evidence.
Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk noted Nicholson was arrested last year when he was caught on video hitting a man. He was placed on the non-football illness list following the arrest. Nicholson played 14 games during the 2018 campaign.

TMZ Sports published video in December that captured Nicholson repeatedly punching a man in a melee before appearing to knock him out. The Michigan State product was taken to jail and eventually released on a $2,500 bond.
Paul Wagner of Fox 5 DC cited court records in December that revealed Nicholson was previously arrested for driving under the influence in 2017.
Washington selected Nicholson with a fourth-round pick in the 2017 NFL draft, and he has appeared in 22 games with 13 starts in his first two seasons.
