IPL Results 2018: Updated Scores, T20 Points Table After Bangalore vs. Hyderabad

Royal Challengers Bangalore (218/6) beat Sunrisers Hyderabad (204/3) by 14 runs in the Indian Premier League on Thursday to keep their play-off hopes alive.

The hosts set what would prove to be an unassailable target at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, and despite a concerted effort from the visitors, they were unable to chase Bangalore down.

RCB are now fifth in the table, level on points with the Mumbai Indians:

Bangalore batted first on home soil, and an excellent showing from their middle order allowed them to rack up a lofty target.

It looked as though it might be a poor day at the crease for the Royal Challengers when Parthiv Patel fell for just a single run in the first over, while Virat Kohli managed just 12.

AB de Villiers and Moeen Ali's arrival quickly changed things, though, as they racked up 69 and 65 runs, respectively. The former hit 12 fours to reach his total, while the latter bagged six sixes.

The pair were taken just two balls apart by Rashid Khan, but a 40 from Colin de Grandhomme and 22 from Sarfaraz Khan helped RCB push past the 200 mark.

De Villiers would play a key role in helping Bangalore hold off Hyderabad in the second innings, dismissing Alex Hales on 37 with a leaping one-handed catch.
