Preakness 2018 Post Time: Race Schedule, Live Stream and NBC TV Info
The 143rd Run for the Black-Eyed Susans takes place on Saturday in the second leg of horse racing's Triple Crown.
Justify, who won the Kentucky Derby, will be going for glory once again in the Preakness Stakes at the Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore.
The field has been decided and the post positions have been drawn, so all that's left is for the race to be run.
Here is the schedule for the Preakness Stakes, including viewing information:
Date: Saturday, May 19
Post Time: 6:20 p.m. ET, 11:20 p.m. BST
TV Info: Preakness Prep from 2:30-5 p.m. ET on NBCSN; Preakness Stakes from 5-7:15 p.m. ET on NBC (USA), At the Races (UK)
Live Stream: NBC Sports (USA), ATR Player (UK)
After winning the Kentucky Derby, Justify has now won all four of his career races, and it's of little surprise he's the 11-25 favourite to win at Pimlico, per OddsShark.
The three-year-old also has trainer Bob Baffert's remarkable Preakness record in his favour. Baffert has won the race on six occasions in his career, including with all four of his past Kentucky Derby winners, which bodes well for Justify's chances.
The 65-year-old is taking nothing for granted, though, per Racing UK:
Justify isn't simply the favourite because of the omens. He proved his talent when he won in heavy rain at Churchill Downs, and his pace will be difficult for the field to live with.
Blood Horse's Alicia Wincze Hughes shared a video of Justify looking quick in training:
The biggest threat to Justify's chances is Derby runner-up Good Magic, who finished two-and-a-half lengths behind him at Churchill Downs.
Good Magic will have to make up that gap over a shorter distance if he's to win the Preakness, and trainer Chad Brown believes it could come down to which of the two is better able to handle the two-week turnaround between races, per Jeremy Balan of Blood Horse:
The Preakness will be Justify's fifth race since February 18, so fatigue could be an issue that catches up with him in Baltimore. If it does, Good Magic could be the one to capitalise.
While he may not have as much experience as Baffert, Brown enjoyed his first Triple Crown race victory in the Preakness last year with Cloud Computing.
