Filipe Luis Says €100M for Antoine Griezmann Is 'Cheap' Amid Barcelona Rumours
Atletico Madrid defender Filipe Luis has said he feels as though team-mate Antoine Griezmann would be a "cheap" signing for €100 million (£87 million) amid continued links to Barcelona.
Griezmann has enjoyed another fine season for Atletico, and after strong rumours he would leave the club last summer, the Blaugrana have been tipped to make a move for him at the end of this season.
And given there is a release clause in his contract at the Wanda Metropolitano, Luis suggested any buying club would be getting value for money, per Dejan Kalinic of Goal.

"Griezmann for €100 million is cheap," the left-back said. "It's the truth. It will not affect him because we are not thinking about it. If he goes, it will be after the [UEFA Europa League] final, and everyone wants to win it. The other things go after that. He is cheap and if he ends it well, it will be even more so."

Luis went on to say the 27-year-old has been the most "decisive" player in the Atletico squad this season, as the team has progressed to the Europa League final, where they will meet Olympique de Marseille.
As Dermot Corrigan of ESPN FC noted, Luis wasn't the only Atletico player to face questions about Griezmann's future on Wednesday:
Barcelona issued a statement in January denying an agreement had been reached to sign the forward at the end of the season. However, in a recent interview with Radio Rincon, Barca forward Luis Suarez spoke as if the deal were done, saying Griezmann "will be welcomed" (h/t Kalinic).
While they already have Suarez, Lionel Messi, Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Coutinho at the club, Griezmann's arrival would excite those associated with the Camp Nou giants. WhoScored.com recently broke down the numbers behind the Atletico man's fine season:
Admittedly, it's not clear where Griezmann would fit into the Barca side given the talent already available to manager Ernesto Valverde.
The France international can operate in numerous positions, whether that be as the most advanced player, high up on either flank or, as he has been doing so effectively for Atletico, in support of a centre-forward.
However, Atletico have recently made it clear they are unhappy with the persistent speculation, per journalist Samuel Marsden:
Griezmann's application has never been in question at Atletico, and he will be desperate to clinch his first piece of silverware for the club in the upcoming final.
However, there is some truth to what Luis says—that kind of fee for a world-class player now represents value for money. And if Barcelona were to make their move, the forward would surely find them too tempting to turn down.
