Donovan Mitchell Blasts James Harden, Officiating After Game 4 Loss to Rockets

Rob GoldbergMay 7, 2018

Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell has been one of the biggest stars of the NBA postseason, but going down 3-1 to the Houston Rockets has apparently caused plenty of frustration.

Leaving the court following the 100-87 Game 4 loss Sunday, Mitchell was caught complaining about James Harden and the officiating.

"If that's what he needs to win f---ing MVP, f--- it," per Daniel Popper of the New York Daily News.

Mitchell fouled out of the game, with three of his six fouls coming in the final three minutes of the game. Foul trouble has suddenly become a problem this series, as he is averaging four per game after picking up just 2.7 per game during the regular season.

Meanwhile, Harden has benefited by going 36-of-39 from the free-throw line in the four games. This isn't much of a change of pace for the Rockets star, who has led the league in free-throw attempts in each of the last four seasons.

Of course, after scoring an NBA-best 30.4 PPG for the best team in basketball this season, Harden is a top MVP candidate regardless of what Mitchell believes.
