Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Under the NFL's rookie wage scale, Evans' deal is worth up to $11.67 million over four years with a $6.6 million signing bonus, per Spotrac.
The 21-year-old University of Alabama product is coming off his best statistical season across four years with the Crimson Tide. He racked up 74 total tackles, six sacks, three passes defended and a forced fumble in 12 games for the nation's top-ranked scoring defense.
Evans also helped the Tide capture two national championships after arriving to Bama as a 5-star prospect and the No. 14 overall player in the 2014 recruiting class, per 247Sports' composite rankings.
Titans general manager Jon Robinson said after picking Evans that the organization was impressed with his deep understanding of the game.
"He kind of had an old-soul feel about him," Robinson told reporters. "A guy that really loves football loves sitting there watching the film and talking through the responsibilities that he had, the front had and that the DBs had."
The rookie should make an immediate impact for Tennessee by replacing Avery Williamson, who signed with the New York Jets in free agency, at inside linebacker next to Wesley Woodyard in the team's 3-4 defensive scheme.
It's a high-impact role that could make Evans a sleeper for Defensive Rookie of the Year.
