Sunrisers Defend Well (Again)
Hyderabad needed just 151 runs to book another win on Sunday, as the team's bowlers were on point yet again against an inconsistent Royals team.
As shared by Broken Cricket, Sunrisers have done a phenomenal job defending leads of late:
Kane Williamson powered Hyderabad's innings with 63 from 43, while Alex Hales contributed 45 from 39. The total of 151 was far from great, but with Hyderabad's bowlers firing on all cylinders, the team was full of confidence in Rajasthan's innings.
In-form Siddarth Kaul led the way with two wickets in four overs, giving up just 23 runs in the process. Ajinkya Rahane scored an unbeaten 65, but Rajasthan couldn't speed up the chase at the vital time.
Kolkata Chase with Ease
Bangalore powered their way to a solid total of 175, but once again, their bowling failed them in the final overs, as Kolkata completed the chase with relative ease.
Virat Kohli anchored the Bangalore innings with an unbeaten 68, and per Cricbuzz, the Indian star has been scoring half-centuries for fun this year:
But death bowling has been a major issue for Royal Challengers, and things didn't change on Sunday. The hosts kept Kolkata's run rate below the required mark for much of the innings despite Chris Lynn's half-century, but a late surge from Dinesh Karthik (23 from 10) saw Knight Riders through.
What's Next?
Chennai Super Kings will try to grab the IPL lead against lowly Delhi Daredevils.
