La Liga Table 2018 Week 35: Updated Standings Following Friday's Results
Levante all but confirmed their La Liga status for next season on Friday, as goals from Roger Marti and Jose Morales powered them to an impressive 2-1 win over Sevilla.
Roger put the home side in front early on, although his effort was quickly cancelled out by Carlos Fernandez. In the 74th minute, Morales struck to earn a huge win for Levante. Sevilla, meanwhile, now face a battle with the likes of Getafe and Girona to cling to seventh.
Later this weekend Barcelona are poised to clinch the title, as a point would be enough at Deportivo La Coruna on Sunday to get them over the line. Should Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid fail to win their matches against Alaves and Leganes, respectively, the Blaugrana will be confirmed winners without kicking a ball.

Friday's Recap

After a bright start to the match, Levante got the lead that their play deserved, as Roger latched on to an excellent through ball and finished calmly.
It was enough to spark Sevilla into life and Fernandez in particular. In the 16th minute, just five minutes after Levante had taken the lead, the 21-year-old picked up possession on the edge of the box before rattling an effort into the top corner.
As noted by OptaJose, the Sevilla supporters have been able to enjoy two excellent goals in the space of two weeks:
Despite their equaliser, the visitors didn't exert their dominance on the game. Roger should have had his second, as he found space on the edge of the box but could only lash his strike wide.
The trend continued after the break, as Morales saw a rasping strike saved by David Soria in the Sevilla goal. Morales came close again after 66 minutes, this time angling a shot narrowly off target.
Morales' persistence eventually paid off with 16 minutes to go, as he scampered down the left channel and slotted the ball brilliantly under an onrushing Soria.
Weekend Preview

Barcelona have four games left to negotiate in the current La Liga season. The title, whether won this weekend or in the coming weeks, is inevitable, although the Blaugrana are on course to make a different type of history.
They have gone 34 games in the Spanish top flight without defeat and are on the brink of being the first team ever to go through a top-flight campaign without losing a game. As noted below, the Blaugrana have made domestic football look easy this season:
Not only could Sunday's game see Barcelona coronated, it may also confirm Deportivo's relegation. Anything but a win would see Clarence Seedorf's team drop down a division despite some recent improvement under his tutelage.
Although both Madrid clubs should get through what appear straightforward home games, they each have European semi-finals to negotiate either side of the fixtures. As a result, Leganes and Alaves may sense a shock.
Meanwhile, Real Betis will want to continue their impressive form with a win against already-relegated Malaga. Quique Setien's team have won five of their last six games and kept clean sheets in their last six, cementing their spot in fifth.
