EPL Results Week 35: Saturday's 2018 Premier League Scores, Top Scorers, Table

James DudkoApr 21, 2018

Mohamed Salah scored his 31st Premier League goal for Liverpool on Saturday, equalling the record for goals scored in a 38-match campaign.

Salah's latest goal couldn't help Liverpool win, though, as West Bromwich Albion fought back from two down to draw 2-2 at the Hawthorns. The Baggies stay bottom of the table but have kept their flickering hopes of avoiding relegation alive, while Liverpool remain third.

Elsewhere, Watford and Crystal Palace played out an intense 0-0 draw, with Palace banking the point in their bid for survival.

Updated standings are available, per BBC Sport.

Salah posed a constant threat against the Baggies, using his pace and movement to torment the opposition defence and give Liverpool players a target. It was left to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to give the division's deadliest marksman the chance he needed.

Former Arsenal ace Oxlade-Chamberlain slid the right pass to meet yet another well-timed Salah run. The Egypt international typically kept his cool to lift a deft finish over West Brom goalkeeper Ben Foster.

Salah's latest goal means he now shares a record with some of the most prolific players in the division's history, per OptaJoe:

In terms of club history, Salah has some of Liverpool's greatest strikers in his sights as he continues his awesome exploits this season, per Sky Sports Statto:

Putting Salah's stellar first season in Liverpool red into context brings up some stunning numbers. Among the most notable is the difference between Salah's personal output and West Brom's collective production, summed up by BBC Sport:

There's no clearer indication for why the Baggies find themselves still rooted to the bottom of the table. Even so, the club isn't giving up the fight easily, evidenced by the way they came back against Salah and Co.

Danny Ings and Salah put Liverpool 2-0 in front, but Jake Livermore and Salomon Rondon showed there are still goals in the Baggies. This point, added to the three surprisingly earned against Manchester United at Old Trafford last week, proves West Brom won't drop quietly into the Championship.

By contrast, Liverpool are left counting the cost of letting their lead slip. They are three points behind United, who have a game in hand.

As for Salah, he took advantage of Kane being on FA Cup duty this week.

There were no goals between Watford and Palace, but the Eagles would have left Vicarage Road happier. A point means Palace have a six-point cushion above the bottom three, although Southampton have played a game fewer.

The Saints will also be in FA Cup action when they take on Chelsea in the second semi-final on Sunday. It gives Stoke City the chance to move above them with a win over Burnley, while champions Manchester City and sixth-placed Arsenal should expect home wins.
