The crash on April 6 involved a bus carrying the Humboldt Broncos, a youth team competing in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League playoffs.
O'Reilly, a former Lady Byng Trophy winner, and McDavid, one of the top offensive players in the league, showed their respects to the fellow Canadians with what was hopefully a comforting visit to the survivors and families.
The NHL has also paid tribute to the victims with helmet stickers for each team to wear during the postseason.
