IPL 2018: Rankings for Top Run-Scorers, Bowling Figures and More Cricket Stats

The Indian Premier League's top run-scorer and wicket taker both had quiet outings on Sunday, as Shikhar Dhawan finished with seven runs in a win for Sunrisers Hyderabad over Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians' Mayank Markande didn't take a wicket in the loss against Delhi Daredevils.

The standout performers were Jason Roy, with an unbeaten 91; Kane Williamson, who scored a half-century; and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who took three big wickets in his bid to win yet another purple cap.

As far as IPL debuts go, it's hard to do much better than Roy's on Saturday, as ESPNcricinfo shared:

The 27-year-old produced a steady knock from start to finish to power Delhi's innings, finishing with 12 boundaries. His 91 runs set the tone for Daredevils' total of 195, and on top of that, he scored the decisive run himself on the final delivery of the chase.

It speaks volumes that Indians were unable to get him out or score one more decisive wicket, and their death bowling let them down once again. The defending champions are now winless in three matches and stranded in last place in the standings.

Markande was no big help on Saturday, as he gave up 42 runs in three overs without taking a single wicket. His economy rate of 14.00 was the second-worst on the team, with Hardik Pandya clocking in at 16.00.

The 20-year-old profiles as a massive talent for the future, but Kumar remains a far safer bet to win this year's purple cap. The 28-year-old has led the league in wickets taken in back-to-back seasons, and he appears to be rounding into form, taking three against Kolkata.

He also surrendered just 26 runs through four overs, good for an economy rate of 6.50.

Kumar has now taken four wickets in two matches―eight overs―and appears to be building form after missing the Indians clash through injury.
