Sunrisers Hyderabad maintained top spot in the 2018 IPL after a five-wicket win over Kolkata Knight Riders on Saturday.

Delhi Daredevils were also winners; they beat Mumbai Indians in another tense finish to leave the defending champions without a win after three games.

Saturday Recap

Saturday was another tough day for Mumbai Indians, who suffered their third straight loss with another late defeat.

Mumbai were put in to bat and got off to a great start as openers Suryakumar Yadav and Evin Lewis put together a partnership of 102.

Cricket statistician Umang Pabari showed how the duo secured a first for Mumbai Indians:

Rahul Tewatia took the wickets of both players, but Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma managed to put together a stand of 57 to help the hosts to a finish of 194.

It looked a tough chase for the Delhi Daredevils, but they were inspired by Jason Roy's brilliant 91 not out on his debut.

ESPNcricinfo showed why he was deservedly named man of the match:

Mumbai Indians endured tense finishes in their opening two games, and it was the same story again with Delhi needing 11 off their final over for victory.

Roy started well, but a couple of missed deliveries saw it go down to the final ball, with the 27-year-old managing to secure the single run needed for victory.

Cricket statistician Mohandas Menon showed there is no reason for Mumbai to give up hope:

Saturday's second game saw Sunrisers Hyderabad win the toss and opt to field. It looked a good decision after Kolkata Knight Riders managed just 138 for eight in their 20 overs.

Opener Chris Lynn managed 49 off 34 and Dinesh Karthik contributed 29, but the plaudits went to Hyderabad's inspired fielding.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the pick of the bowlers, taking three for 26 to leave the visitors chasing a modest 139.

Captain Kane Williamson led by example with a half-century, and his 59-run stand with Shakib Al Hasan was key to the win.

Sports journalist Boria Majumdar was impressed with Williamson's captaincy:

While Williamson's innings was impressive, the foundations for victory were laid by the bowlers. The win also means Sunrisers have won all three games and look very much the team to beat.
