Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register originally reported the news on Tuesday.
The Dodgers have not hosted the game since 1980. It marks just the second time ever the game will be played at Dodger Stadium. Last time, the National League rallied for a 4-2 victory, with Cincinnati Reds star Ken Griffey Sr. winning MVP.
This means the All-Star Game will be played at an NL ballpark five out of six years. The Washington Nationals will host the showcase this season. The Cleveland Indians (2019) will be the American League's lone representative from 2015-20. But with home-field advantage in the World Series no longer in play, the host stadium no longer has significance in terms of the on-field competition.
Of course, if Clayton Kershaw is still wearing blue and white come 2020, it could be an easy call as to who will take the mound for the NL.
Dodger Stadium was on full display during the 2017 World Baseball Classic and last year's playoffs, including the World Series. It's one of the most iconic ballparks in baseball, and when the spotlight is on, it provides an incredible experience.
Los Angeles is known for its stars, and the summer of 2020 will certainly live up to that reputation now.
