Tottenham Transfer News: Latest Rumours on Mousa Dembele Contract
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Mousa Dembele is said to be keen to sign a new three-year contract extension at the club.
According to Matt Law of the Daily Telegraph, the Belgium international wants to extend his deal until 2022. He'll have just a year left to run on his current term at the end of the campaign.
However, the desire for a contract of this length may cast doubt over the midfielder's future, per Law:

"Given Dembele's injury record, it would represent a big risk for Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy to agree to a pay increase that would effectively run for four more years from this summer. But Spurs are also aware that Dembele has interest from Europe, and in particular Italy, following his superb Champions League performance against Juventus in Turin."
Calciomercato.com reported on March 30 that Juventus are considering a possible swoop for the 30-year-old if they are unable to sign Emre Can on a free transfer in the summer from Liverpool.

As relayed by Law, Dembele has previously made it clear he won't enter into negotiations over a new contract at Tottenham until after the summer's FIFA World Cup, where he is expected to play a crucial role for Belgium.
Dembele has enjoyed another prosperous season for Spurs, and his manager Mauricio Pochettino has spoken highly of him, as we can see below:
The injury concerns with Dembele represent a slight worry, and as he gets older, you sense they'll become more prevalent. At this juncture, though, the former Fulham man is still one of the best players in the Tottenham side.
Dembele is the linchpin at the heart of the team. He boasts a remarkable blend of talent, power and dynamism that makes him such a tough man to pin down in the heart of midfield. He may not be a prolific midfielder, but a match rarely goes by without him making his mark.
Journalist Jack Lang suggested after Tottenham's win against Arsenal in the Premier League in February that Dembele would be among the best players in the world in his position if he were able to stay fully fit:
Bleacher Report's Dean Jones added that in addition to the recent acclaim he's received, Dembele has been one of Spurs' standout players for a long time now:
Tottenham under Pochettino have been associated with young players being able to play a high-pressure style of football. So, with that in mind, some small reservations about giving Dembele another three years are understandable.
Even so, he's not someone who would be easy to replace, and although Spurs may have to manage him in years to come, the impact he has in games against some of Europe's best sides makes him vital to the Tottenham cause. Dembele certainly seems to think he can have that influence for a while yet.
