Robby Anderson Fined in Speeding Case, WR Made Graphic Sexual Comment to Officer

Kyle NewportApr 3, 2018

Although he avoided jail time in the case, New York Jets receiver Robby Anderson will have to pay a fine as a result of his Jan. 19 arrest, according to TMZ.

Anderson was pulled over for going 105 MPH in a 45 mph zone and ultimately faced nine charges. Per Andy Slater of WINZ, the 24-year-old wideout "allegedly threatened to sexually assault [the arresting] officer's wife."

TMZ reported Anderson could have faced up to 15 years in prison.

Anderson faced three felony charges, but according to Slater, those were dropped due to "insufficient evidence." Anderson wound up facing just one misdemeanor count of reckless driving, as a Broward State Attorney spokesperson told Slater, "There was a possible discrepancy regarding the initial estimated speed, but there is no doubt that the defendant was driving recklessly."

The third-year receiver out of Temple enjoyed his best season to date last year. He had 63 catches for 941 yards and seven touchdowns in his second season as a pro.

However, he wasn't able to enjoy the success for too long before he found himself in trouble with the law this offseason.

While Anderson may have avoided jail time, he could still find himself in trouble with the NFL. Roger Goodell and Co. have the power to suspend him under the league's Personal Conduct Policy.
