Tottenham Transfer News: Spurs and Everton Reportedly Keen on Kwadwo Asamoah
Tottenham Hotspur and Premier League rivals Everton are reportedly both keen on securing a free-transfer deal for Juventus ace Kwadwo Asamoah this summer, per Steve Goodman of The Sun.
Goodman wrote, "Asamoah, 29, has snubbed Juve's offer of a new deal as he wants a new challenge."
He also pointed out "Spurs officials are also reported to have enquired about the Kumasi-born ace," despite the Toffees making a "firm approach for Asamoah in the past few days."

However, both Tottenham and Everton could be set for disappointment, with rumours growing Asamoah, whose Juve contract is up in July, will swap the Bianconeri for Inter Milan.

The Ghana international is reportedly close to agreeing a three-year deal to join the Nerazzurri, according to Gazzetta dello Sport (h/t Get Italian Football News). The contract would reportedly net Asamoah €3.5 million per year at Inter.
Spurs may feel inclined to offer a better deal since they recently saw firsthand how effective Asamoah can be. The versatile veteran, who can operate on the wing or as a full-back, made an impact as a second-half substitute when Juve beat Tottenham 2-1 in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League last 16 at Wembley Stadium earlier this month.
Asamoah entered the fray when Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri switched from three at the back to a more traditional 4-3-3. Tom Collomosse of the London Evening Standard described the immediate effectiveness prompted by the change:
Spurs could use Asamoah's ability to create width on the left. His pace and power would offer a more direct option to Ben Davies, who has replaced Danny Rose for most of this season.
Rose continues to be linked with a move away, with Neil Ashton of The Sun recently reporting Manchester United plan to bid for the England international left-back this summer.
ESPN.co.uk's Mark Ogden confirmed Rose is one of the Red Devils' "leading targets." However, Samuel Luckhurst of the Manchester Evening News has reported United boss Jose Mourinho prefers Juve's Alex Sandro over Rose.

Whatever the future holds for Rose, Asamoah would be a terrific signing for Spurs. His ability to play a number of positions in both defence and midfield would strengthen squad depth while providing Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino with greater tactical flexibility at multiple levels of the team.
Acquiring those qualities on a free transfer would make Asamoah a true bargain in an inflated market.
