
Udoka Azubuike's Mom to See Son Play for 1st Time at Kansas After Visa Approved
Udoka Azubuike will have plenty of motivation when his Kansas Jayhawks take the court against the Villanova Wildcats in the Final Four on Saturday.
Not only is a trip to the national championship game on the line, but it will also mark the first time his mother, Florence, has seen her son play basketball ever—and it will be on college basketball's biggest stage. He left Nigeria to come to the United States when he was in ninth grade.
According to Kansas U.S. Rep. Kevin Yoder, the Nigerian government approved Florence's travel visa on Thursday, allowing her to fly to San Antonio for the Final Four.

"I'm pretty excited," Azubuike said, per ESPN's Andrea Adelson. "It's going to be an emotional moment for me."

The 7'0", 280-pound center is averaging 13.1 points, 7.1 rebounds and 1.7 blocks this season.
It will be a special experience regardless of the outcome, but what a moment it would be for Azubuike to cut down the nets in front of his mom.
