Manchester United Transfer News: Everton Reportedly Join Race for Luke Shaw
Everton have reportedly joined the race to sign Manchester United defender Luke Shaw and are said to be monitoring the full-back's situation at Old Trafford.
The Toffees watched him in action during United's FA Cup win over Brighton & Hove Albion and are considering a move as they seek a replacement for 33-year-old Leighton Baines, per Peter O'Rourke at ESPN FC.
Shaw was replaced at half-time of the FA Cup clash and subsequently came in for criticism from manager Jose Mourinho, as shown by Samuel Luckhurst at the Manchester Evening News:

The left-back was upset by Mourinho's words and will leave the Red Devils in the summer, according to Simon Stone at BBC Sport.
Former Manchester United midfielder and television pundit Paul Scholes said it would be disappointing to see Shaw depart, per Indy Football:
There's no doubting Shaw's potential, but it remains to be seen if he can rediscover his best form. Manchester United team-mate Ashley Young said he "can be one of the best in the world" if he works hard, per BBC Radio 5 live (h/t Jamie Jackson at the Guardian).
The 22-year-old has responded to Mourinho's criticism by turning up for extra training sessions during the international break, according to Chris Cutmore for MailOnline.
However, there are questions marks over his attitude and whether he will be able to fulfil his evident potential, as noted by sports journalist Dale O'Donnell:
There is plenty of interest in Shaw as Tottenham Hotspur, Southampton and Leicester City are all admirers, according to the Daily Star's Jeremy Cross. Chelsea are also keen on bringing in the full-back, per Chris Wheeler and Jack Gaughan at the Daily Mail.
Interest from Everton makes sense with Baines heading towards the end of his career. The defender remains a key player for the Toffees but will turn 34 this year and a replacement will be needed. However, the Merseysiders may face fierce competition if Shaw and Manchester United do part ways this summer.
