Breshad Perriman Contract Option Reportedly Declined by Ravens
After years of waiting for the former first-round pick to stay healthy and put up big numbers, the Baltimore Ravens appear to be getting ready to move on from Breshad Perriman.
The team declined the receiver's fifth-year option on his rookie deal on Wednesday, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.
It's been a tough start to Perriman's NFL career, as he has been limited to just 27 games in three seasons. He missed his rookie season after tearing his PCL during training camp and then re-injuring it during the rehab process. He then suffered a knee injury that cost him the 2016 preseason. He was hampered by a hamstring injury this past year and also dealt with a concussion.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
In 2017, Perriman managed just 10 catches for 77 yards. As the result of injuries and a lack of production, ultimately he was benched down the stretch. He had 499 yards and three touchdowns in his first season on the field with the Ravens in 2016.
There is still time for the 24-year-old to get his career on track. After all, this was a player who had size (6'2") and speed (4.2 40-yard dash) coming out of Central Florida. It's easy to see why a team would be intrigued by that combo.
Of course, declining the fifth-year option doesn't guarantee the two sides will part after next season. It just means the team doesn't want to risk the money if he struggles again in 2018. If he shows flashes during the season, perhaps a new deal will be reached at some point in the future. If it's more of the same, Perriman may have to try to catch on with a new team to reach his full potential.
