That came on the same day the Raiders released Smith after playing just nine regular-season games with the team.
On Saturday, Smith was allegedly involved in a domestic violence incident with his fiance and left the scene before police could question him.
Per ESPN.com, San Francisco police said an arrest warrant had been obtained for Smith in relation to the alleged domestic violence incident.
According to ESPN, Smith is "facing misdemeanor charges of willful infliction of corporal injury, assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury, false imprisonment and vandalism."
Smith's fiance told TMZ Sports that her parents helped Smith get checked in to rehab following the alleged incident:
"I can tell you this...Aldon called my parents and asked them to take him to rehab. He complied. They went and got him. I was not there. My family took him and had him checked in.
"I wish the best for Aldon. And I'm scared for his life with his addiction. I cannot comment on the altercation but I can tell you I love him and so happy he turned to my family who considers him family and hopefully he gets the help he truly needs."
Smith has not appeared in an NFL regular-season game since 2015 due to a suspension stemming from multiple arrests and a violation of the NFL's substance-abuse policy.
The 28-year-old had 28 tackles and 3.5 sacks in his one season with the Raiders on the heels of registering 44.0 sacks in four seasons with the San Francisco 49ers, which included one Pro Bowl nod and one All-Pro First Team selection.
