Real Madrid Transfer News: Sergej Milinkovic-Savic Eyed in Latest Rumours
Real Madrid are reportedly monitoring the progress of Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic ahead of a summer rebuild.
According to Jose Felix Diaz of Marca, Los Blancos are keeping an eye on as many as 30 players because they are keen to refresh their squad in the upcoming transfer window.
However, Diaz suggested the Lazio star has caught the eye and is being dubbed "more than interesting" by members of the Madrid recruitment team. The European champions are said to have been impressed by the blend of attributes Milinkovic-Savic possesses.

As Football Italia noted, Lazio President Claudio Lotito has previously said he's turned down €100 million (£88 million) bids for the player. Football Italia reported Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United have all shown an interest in Milinkovic-Savic.
The Lazio midfielder's rise has been rapid, and he's established himself as a crucial player in a strong side since his arrival in 2015. Bleacher Report's Sam Tighe believes Milinkovic-Savic has the attributes needed to perform at the highest level:
After several promising signs in recent seasons, he's taken his performances up another notch this term.
Milinkovic-Savic has been irrepressible at the hub of the Biancoceleste. It's rare in the modern game to have midfielders capable of doing everything, but the Lazio man is defensively sound, effective in the final third and a dominant physical presence.
That ability to win midfield battles with either poise or power makes Milinkovic-Savic such an asset, and it's not a shock to see reports that myriad clubs are interested in signing him. Lazio will also feel well within their rights to request a huge fee for the 22-year-old.
Italian football journalist Adam Digby believes the Lazio man would be well worth whatever a club is willing to pay to sign the Serbia international:
Real Madrid's midfield trio of Casemiro, Luka Modric and Toni Kroos has excelled in recent years, while manager Zinedine Zidane does have talented backup in the form Mateo Kovacic and Dani Ceballos.
Milinkovic-Savic would add something different to Madrid than the aforementioned players. Perhaps most excitingly of all, given his age, there is time for the midfielder to get even better.
As WhoScored.com noted late last year, there aren't many players of his age who can rival Milinkovic-Savic:
If Madrid are going to revamp their squad in the summer, then signing someone like Milinkovic-Savic would be a tremendous place to start. He's young, improving and multifaceted, meaning he's capable of playing at the heart of the team for years to come.
Lazio have made progress this season, and you suspect they would be desperate to keep their midfielder around and build a strong side around him. However, if Madrid were to make a serious attempt to bring Milinkovic-Savic to the Santiago Bernabeu, it would be tough to keep him in Rome.
