Manchester City vs. Arsenal: Preview, Live Stream, TV Info for Carabao Cup Final

Manchester City take on Arsenal in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley Stadium on Sunday.

Perhaps surprisingly both teams go into the game on the back of defeats. Manchester City suffered an FA Cup upset at the hands of League One side Wigan Athletic, beaten 1-0 at the DW Stadium on Monday.

Arsenal lost 2-1 at home to Swedish minnows Ostersunds in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday. The Gunners still progressed courtesy of a 4-2 aggregate win, but it's hardly the best preparation for a cup final for either side.

Manchester City's quadruple hopes may have been ruined by Wigan, but they will still be hoping to claim their first silverware of the season. Pep Guardiola's side have comfortably been the strongest team in England this season and lead the Premier League table by a huge 16 points.

The league leaders have also been boosted by the return from injury of striker Gabriel Jesus. The Brazilian is back in training after a serious knee problem and could feature on Sunday at some point, per Sam McEvoy for MailOnline. 

However, Guardiola has issues in defence as Fabian Delph is suspended for Sunday's final after his red card against Wigan. The City boss looks set to choose between Danilo and Oleksandr Zinchenko at left-back.

Raheem Sterling is also a doubt for the game as he has a muscle problem, per Goal's Sam Lee.

City will still go into the match as big favourites to lift the trophy and have already tasted victory over the Gunners with a 3-1 Premier League win in November. However, the last time the two sides met at Wembley was in the semi-final of the 2017 FA Cup, which Arsenal won 2-1 on their way to lifting the trophy.

Arsenal will need to improve on their Europa League showing if they are claim glory on Sunday. However, it would be typical of the Gunners to go and beat Manchester City, according to Jonathan Northcroft of the Sunday Times:

An improvement in attitude will be required and a strong team will also be needed. The Arsenal boss has already said David Ospina will be in goal, per the Evening Standard's James Olley:

Wenger also confirmed Jack Wilshere and Alex Iwobi will be fit, despite appearing to pick up problems against Ostersunds, per Football.London's Charles Watts.

Aaron Ramsey will have a fitness test before the game, and Mezut Ozil is expected to feature after recovering from illness, according to Sky Sports. Alexandre Lacazette is out after knee surgery and Henrikh Mkhitaryan is cup-tied.

Despite all their flaws Arsenal have shown they can beat the top teams, as evidenced by their victory over Chelsea in the 2017 FA Cup final. However, City look a cut above the rest this season and anything other than a City win will be viewed as a surprise.
