David McCrackenFeb 10, 2018

The 2018 Olympic Games are still young, but a lot has already happened.

Forget about the opening ceremony—the events are underway. And medals have already been handed out to a few winners.

To watch NBC's Saturday live coverage of events (in U.S. ET), you can find the live streams here. For a complete schedule of the Winter Olympics, you can find it here at NBCOlympics.com.

Here's a look at the updated medal count after Saturday's opening events:

In case you were wondering, the record for most golds won in a single Games was 14 by Canada in the 2010 Winter Olympics. So no pressure.

Winners (So Far)

The first gold medal of the 2018 Winter Olympics went to Sweden after, you guessed it, Charlotte Kalla torched her competition in the women's 15-kilometer skiathlon. Her winning time was 40 minutes, 44.9 seconds.

Norway's Marit Bjoergen won the silver in the same race, followed by Finland's Krista Parmakoski for bronze.

And of course, the host country—South Korea—won its first gold of the Games.

South Korea claimed the medal in short-track speedskating after Lim Hyo-jun crossed the finish line first in the men's 1,500-meter short track.

For the United States, it is medal-less thus far, but that's not very surprising given the fact that (1) the Games just started, and (2) it hasn't participated in its strongest events yet.

Predictions for Saturday's Events (U.S. ET Coverage)

Figure Skating (Ice Dance Short Program)

—Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron (France)

Papadakis and Cizeron are in the best form as they enter the 2018 Games.

The French duo will face steep competition in this ice dance event, but after scoring the first-ever 200-point performance at the Audi Cup in China, it's hard not to pick them to take home gold.

Alpine Skiing (Men's Downhill)

—Beat Feuz (Switzerland)

Feuz is on a hot streak after failing to impress during the 2014 Games in Sochi.

He won the downhill event in both the 2017 World Championships and the 2018 World Cup, so Feuz should be a lock to earn gold this year.

Snowboarding (Men's Slopestyle)

—Marcus Kleveland (Norway)

Don't sleep on 17-year-old American Red Gerard, but this is Kleveland's event to lose.

The 18-year-old Norwegian star is the best snowboarder in this event by far and will look to showcase his talent to the world on the sport's biggest stage.
