Manuel Orrego-Savala Charged with 4 Felonies Related to Edwin Jackson's Death
Prosecutors in Indiana filed felony charges Wednesday against Manuel Orrego-Savala for his alleged role in the death of Indianapolis Colts linebacker Edwin Jackson on Sunday.
Rick Callahan of the Associated Press reported the Guatemala native, who was living in the United States illegally, faces counts that include causing death while driving intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident as the suspect in a drunk-driving crash.
Jackson and another man, 54-year-old Uber driver Jeffrey Monroe, were killed on an Interstate highway when they were hit by a pickup truck.

Orrego-Savala was arrested shortly after the crash. Court documents list his blood alcohol level at 0.19, which is more than double the state's legal limit (0.08), according to the AP.
The report noted the 37-year-old construction worker also faces a federal charge of illegal re-entry after previously being deported from the U.S. in 2007 and 2009.
"He's very distraught to say the least," Orrego Saval's attorney, Jorge Torres, said. "He's very confused."
President Donald Trump commented on the case Tuesday:
Jackson went undrafted out of Georgia State in 2015. The Atlanta native spent a couple months with the Arizona Cardinals before signing with the Colts in December 2015. He played 16 games with the organization in 2016, but missed the 2017 season due to injury.
He was 26.
