Chelsea Would Reportedly Refuse £200M Bid for Eden Hazard Amid Man City Rumours
Chelsea will reportedly resist any approach from Manchester City for star forward Eden Hazard.
According to Matt Law of the Daily Telegraph, even an offer of £200 million from the Etihad Stadium would be turned down by the Blues.
Law noted City are considering an offer in the summer for Hazard having missed out on Alexis Sanchez to Manchester United. Real Madrid are also mentioned as possible suitors for the Belgium international, especially if he doesn't extend his Chelsea contract before the end of the campaign.

According to Law, there is an extension on the table for Hazard worth £300,000 per week, although the club are concerned about interest from Madrid.
"But while Chelsea may ultimately be powerless to stop Hazard joining Real if the Spaniards lodge a huge bid, they will not allow him to join English rivals for any amount of money," Law wrote. "City are yet to make a bid."
Sam Lee of Goal reported recently interest from City in the Belgian is genuine:
Meanwhile, Kristof Terreur of Het Laastse Nieuws doesn't believe Hazard would leave Chelsea to join a domestic rival:
City are becoming an increasingly attractive proposition, though, as they're playing some great football under the guidance of manager Pep Guardiola.
For an attacking player, in particular, the team must be a joy to operate in, as City move the ball with such purpose and precision. The likes of Sergio Aguero, Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane have all excelled this season as a result.

There isn't much depth in the City forward line as things stand, though, with Gabriel Jesus and Sane sidelined by injury. It's why it would be no surprise to see City move for a versatile option in the summer.
If they were able to sign Hazard it would be a remarkable piece of business. As noted by football writer Paul Brown, the forward has been sensational since arriving at Stamford Bridge in 2012:
With that in mind, Chelsea's reluctance to sell the former Lille man is understandable. Even with £200 million banked, their No. 10 would be a tough man to replace.

Not only is Hazard productive when he gets the ball in the final third, he's a joy to watch for supporters. When he's in form, few in the Premier League can reach the levels he does, as the 27-year-old so often makes defenders look foolish with his sharp changes of direction and bursts of speed.
As noted by MailOnline's James Dutton, at times the Blues have been too dependent on him recently:
City showed in the summer they are ready to spend big, and a player of Hazard's pedigree would arguably be worth such an enormous outlay.
Even so, Chelsea's stance on this makes sense, as it would be a peculiar move to let the division's best side take their best player.
Real Madrid may pose a problem for the Blues in the long term, but with a massive contract offer on the table, the west London club will still be hopeful their star man agrees an extension.
