Richie Incognito Apologized to Yannick Ngakoue After Racial Slur Allegations
Pro Bowl teammates Yannick Ngakoue and Richie Incognito have made peace after Ngakoue said Incognito used racist slurs during the Jacksonville Jaguars' 10-3 win over the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Wild Card Game.
Per Mark Long of the Associated Press, Ngakoue said Wednesday Incognito came up to him offering an apology. Ngakoue's teammate Malik Jackson saw the two talking and gave his thoughts on the situation.
"We have a huge respect for each other, and sometimes the heat of the moment can get to you and you can say things you might not really mean or do things you might not really mean and be apologetic for it," Jackson said. "I think it shows the true character of a man to come and apologize and/or talk about it to clear the air.”

On Jan. 7, Ngakoue said on Twitter that Incognito needed "to come harder than some weak racial slurs."
"Great win to day! And 64, you goin have to come harder than some weak racist slurs. I’m proud of my African heritage, as are 70% of the other Black players in this league. #Iaintjonathanmartin!

Bills offensive tackle Dion Dawkins, who plays alongside Incognito, defended his teammate by noting he was next to him on the field for the entire game and didn't hear any racist remarks:
Bills general manager Brandon Beane said at his end-of-season press conference on Jan. 9 that Ngakoue and Incognito did have a verbal exchange on the field, but there was a "misunderstanding" of what was said.
Incognito used racial slurs in messages for Jonathan Martin in 2013 when the two were teammates on the Miami Dolphins. He was suspended for the final eight games of that season as a result and didn't play in the NFL again until 2015 when he signed with the Bills.
