Pro Bowl 2018: TV Schedule, Live Stream and NFL Players Pool

Joe TanseyJan 23, 2018

Although we still have to wait another week for Super Bowl LII, the 2018 Pro Bowl on Sunday gives us a chance to feed our football obsession while waiting for the championship tilt.

The AFC will take on the NFC at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida, with the Pittsburgh Steelers staff led by head coach Mike Tomlin in charge of the AFC and Sean Payton's New Orleans Saints staff overseeing the NFC roster.

The series between the AFC and NFC is tied 22-22 following the AFC's victory in 2017 in a game that featured the return of conference versus conference action. From 2014-2016, the Pro Bowl teams were determined by player drafts.

Slew of Replacements Announced on Monday

A plethora of players were added to the Pro Bowl roster on Monday for a bevy of reasons, per NFL.com.

With the Philadelphia Eagles qualifying for the Super Bowl, their players were lifted from the NFC player pool.

Carson Wentz was replaced at quarterback by Los Angeles Rams signal-caller Jared Goff, while safety Malcolm Jenkins, tight end Zach Ertz and defensive tackle Fletcher Cox were replaced by Atlanta's Keanu Neal, Dallas' Jason Witten and Minnesota's Linval Joseph, respectively. Philadelphia offensive lineman Brandon Brooks had his spot taken by New Orleans' Larry Warford.

The AFC champion New England Patriots had players taken off the AFC roster on Monday, with quarterback Tom Brady being replaced by Oakland's Derek Carr and Pittsburgh's Roosevelt Nix taking over from fullback James Develin.

The others added to the player pool on Monday were Carolina linebacker Thomas Davis, Jacksonville defensive end Yannick Ngakoue and linebacker Telvin Smith, Seattle defensive end Michael Bennett and Minnesota's tight end Kyle Rudolph and safety Harrison Smith.

The group of six replaced Minnesota linebacker Anthony Barr and defensive end Everson Griffen, Jacksonville defensive end Calais Campbell, Houston linebacker Jadeveon Clowney, New York Giants safety Landon Collins and Seattle tight end Jimmy Graham

Steelers, Saints Well Represented

The Steelers and Saints were already going to have a heavy presence in the Pro Bowl before the Super Bowl participants were determined due to their respective coaching staffs being in charge of the game.

However, each team's player tally grew with the Eagles and Patriots advancing to the championship game at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

With the addition of fullback Roosevelt Nix and defensive end Cameron Heyward from the alternate pool, the Steelers now have 10 players selected for the AFC roster, as noted by ESPN.com's Jeremy Fowler.

Nine of the 10 Pro Bowlers will participate on Sunday, with linebacker Ryan Shazier being the only Pittsburgh player not on the field due to the injury he suffered against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 13.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the field, the Saints are up to seven Pro Bowl players after Warford replaced Brooks on Monday.

Warford joins quarterback Drew Brees, wide receiver Michael Thomas and running back duo Mark Ingram and Alvin Kamara on offense, while defensive back Marshon Lattimore and defensive end Cameron Jordan will represent the Saints on defense.

The Saints are tied with the Eagles for most players selected for the NFC roster with seven, but since Philadelphia will be busy preparing for the Super Bowl, New Orleans will have the most players on the field for the NFC.
