The 6'7" player was a 4-star recruit and considered the No. 82 overall player in the 2017 class, according to 247Sports. However, he saw minimal playing time for the Blue Devils, appearing in just two games while scoring six total points in 14 minutes.
He announced his decision to transfer at the end of December, via Kyle Boone of CBS Sports.
"We support Jordan and his family's decision," Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski said after the transfer was announced. "We appreciate his commitment to Duke during his time here. Jordan represented our program well and we wish him the very best moving forward."
Tucker visited Butler last weekend, per Woods, and as ESPN's Jeff Borzello reported, he had narrowed his choices down to the Bulldogs and Big East rival Georgetown.
He will now join a Butler squad that has had an up-and-down season so far with a 13-6 overall record. With leading scorer Kelan Martin set to graduate after this year, however, there is a major need for a scoring wing for the 2018-19 season and beyond.
With Tucker's skill set, he should be able to contribute as soon as he is eligible.
