Jose Mourinho 'Frustrated' at Manchester United Reluctance to Sign Danny Rose
Jose Mourinho is reportedly "frustrated" with Manchester United as the club is reluctant to sign Danny Rose from Tottenham Hotspur in a £40 million January deal.
According to Chris Wheeler of the Daily Mail, United believe Luke Shaw can nail down the left-back position at Old Trafford and would prefer to sign a younger option for the future, whereas Mourinho wants to bring in a ready-made, top-class player and has identified Rose as his first choice.
The article noted "the situation is contributing to Mourinho's increasingly tense relationship with the Old Trafford board," while Wheeler's colleague Matt Lawton reported there is concern at the club that the Portuguese could resign at the end of the season.

It appeared Shaw had no future at United under the Special One earlier this season. Prior to December, he had played just 48 minutes of senior football, split across two appearances in the Carabao Cup.
However, the 22-year-old has started six matches since December 5 and completed 90 minutes in all but one.
As sports writers Liam Canning and Adam Joseph noted, the England international has taken advantage of his opportunities with some strong showings:
"Luke Shaw was excellent. Really starting to mirror the player he was prior to his broken leg. It's wonderful to see.

With Shaw beginning to revive his career at the club, it's understandable the powers that be at Old Trafford are hoping the £27 million they spent to prise him away from Southampton in 2014 will pay off.
Their reluctance to move for Rose can also be understood. The 27-year-old missed much of 2017 through injury, and there remain concerns over his fitness, per Football.London's Alasdair Gold:
Spurs writer Chris Miller has also been unimpressed with Rose's form since the left-back's recent return to action:
There's no doubting Rose's quality, but signing him could be something of a gamble in January.
Waiting until the summer would afford Shaw more time to prove himself and give Rose the opportunity to regain his form and fitness.
