Jack Wilshere Expresses Confidence He'll Sign Arsenal Contract Extension
Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has said he's sure a new contract will be signed after starring in his side's 3-2 victory over Crystal Palace on Thursday.
The injury-plagued playmaker has started four Premier League games in a row, and he addressed his contract situation after Thursday's result, per the Daily Mail's Sami Mokbel: "I spoke to the boss, and he said he will speak to me so we will see, and I'm sure it will get done."
Along with Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil, Wilshere is one of the high-profile Gunners stars whose deal is due to expire in the summer, although he looks far more likely to extend his stay than his two team-mates.

The 25-year-old impressed for good portions of his loan spell at Bournemouth last season and is beginning to cause a stir at the Emirates Stadium again after improving his fitness, as noted by Sky Sports Statto:
Manager Arsene Wenger was also asked for his take on Wilshere's future after Thursday's win and replied positively: "Beginning of January, it's planned. I said we would sort out his situation in December, end of December, and so I told him we want to meet and sit down."
Wilshere has made only nine Premier League appearances this season but has been available for most of the campaign, and Riath Al-Samarrai of the Daily Mail is shocked a new deal hasn't already been agreed:
An Arsenal player for 16 years—having joined the club's academy in 2001—Wilshere was once viewed as a future England superstar, but recurring injuries and setbacks have stunted his development.
He was absent for the entire 2015-16 campaign and missed 47 matches, per Transfermarkt, before returning closer to his old self in a temporary stint at the Vitality Stadium last term.
Wilshere wasn't the only Gunner with a timer on his stay who impressed at Selhurst Park on Thursday, either, as he combined with Sanchez for a terrific third goal, per Men In Blazers:
Many at the Emirates Stadium may be happy to hand Wilshere a new deal purely for the potential he possesses when fit. They would be willing to take a risk on the player he can be in the hope he can again start playing consistent football.
While it may be a risk, his man-of-the-match display against the Eagles on Thursday showed him at his best, and his Arsenal career looks set to continue as long as an agreement on new terms can be reached.
