WWE 205 Live Results: Winners, Grades, Reaction and Highlights from October 24

The Doctor Chris MuellerOct 24, 2017

WWE's continued push of the cruiserweight division continued Sunday night at Tables, Ladders & Chairs with two matches featuring members of the 205 Live roster.

Cedric Alexander and Rich Swann defeated The Brian Kendrick and Jack Gallagher in a tag team match and Enzo Amore regained the Cruiserweight Championship from Kalisto.

Unfortunately, Drew Gulak's scheduled PowerPoint presentation was cancelled, but he was able to continue where he left off on this week's show.

We also got to see Swann and Alexander battle Noam Dar and Tony Nese in tag team action, Gran Metalik face Gulak and Kalisto get his rematch for the cruiserweight title.

Let's go through each match from this week's episode of 205 Live.

Cedric Alexander and Rich Swann vs. Noam Dar and Tony Nese

1 of 3

The first match of the night saw Alexander and Swann try to continue the momentum they built up at TLC in another tag team match. This time they faced Dar and Nese.

It feels like we haven't seen much of Dar since his storyline with Alicia Fox came to an end, so it was nice to see him team up with Nese, who usually uses Gulak as a partner.

This was an average tag team match, but the exciting offense of the cruiserweights helped make it more entertaining, especially when it came to Swann and Alexander.

The pace was a little slow at times, but that's because they were actually given a decent amount of time to work with. They knew when to use the high spots and when to use rest holds effectively.

Gallagher and Kendrick appeared on the stage to distract Swann and Alexander, but it was all for nought. Alexander picked up the win for his team with a Lumbar Check on Dar.

Grade: B-

Notes and Highlights

  • There's no reason why some of these 205 Live tag teams can't go after the Raw tag titles. It would help add some depth to the cruiserweight division if they branched out a bit.
  • Nese always brags about his physique, but Alexander might have slightly bigger biceps.
  • Nese trying to teach Dar how to do an ab bike exercise while kicking Alexander was pretty funny.

Gran Metalik vs. Drew Gulak

2 of 3

Gulak came to the ring and complained about how his PowerPoint presentation was cancelled at TLC and bragged about injuring Akira Tozawa's vocal cords.

He tried to protest by refusing to leave the ring and starting his presentation over from the beginning, but Gran Metalik came out for a match before he could get past the first slide.

This match was little more than filler, but Metalik is always fun to watch. Unsurprisingly, he didn't pay attention to Gulak's rules and broke just about every one of them.

What was surprising was seeing Gulak finally get a win with a dragon sleeper. They had a decent match, but it lagged in a few places. Gulak tried to attack Metalik's leg after the match was over, but Tozawa made the save.

Grade: C+

Notes and Highlights

  • Is anyone else upset we don't get to find out what slide No. 10 says?
  • So far, we have yet to hear if the cruiserweights will be involved at Survivor Series. It would be cool to see a traditional elimination match between 205 Live and NXT.
  • Gulak yelling "You stay on the ground" as they began the match was funny.
  • The pink and purple ropes remind me of Damien Sandow. It's too bad WWE didn't know how to use him properly.

Kalisto vs. Enzo Amore (Cruiserweight Championship)

3 of 3

Kalisto wasted no time using the rematch clause in his contract to get another shot at winning the Cruiserweight Championship from Amore.

The Lucha Dragon was more aggressive than usual. The ref even had to back him off a few times so he wouldn't get himself disqualified.

Amore tried to use some shortcuts to retain his title, but Kalisto wasn't about to make it easy for him. He prevented Muscles Marinara from getting himself counted out despite having suffered an ankle injury earlier in the match.

Amore killed two birds with one stone by kicking the referee so he stumbled into the ropes and knocked Kalisto off the top turnbuckle. It was an uneventful ending to what had been a decent bout up to that point.

Grade: C-

Notes and Highlights

  • It was weird watching Amore walk to the ring without delivering his usual introduction. It was even stranger when Ariya Daivari spoke for him due to Amore losing his voice.
  • I have to admit the line about the Bucks and Milwaukee not knowing anything about a championship made me laugh.
  • Be honest: How many of you completely forgot about Big Cass already?
  • Kalisto's windmill driver on the apron was amazing.
