The former Southampton man was introduced into the action as a second-half substitute, although he wasn't on for long as he appeared to tweak his hamstring.
After the match, manager Jurgen Klopp said the injury "looked really serious," but he noted it was "too early" to say if the injury would potentially keep Lallana out of England's squad for this summer's World Cup in Russia, per Tom Doyle of the Evening Standard.
Lallana cemented himself as a key part of Klopp's plans during the previous term. He settled into a central berth alongside Jordan Henderson and Georginio Wijnaldum, adding poise and purpose to that area of the field.
Not only is Lallana tidy and direct on the ball, he is the player who sets the pressing tempo in the middle of the park for the Reds at his best. He's quick to hassle opposition midfielders and regularly puts in tackles in an attempt to stifle their flow.
However, this season has been punctured by injuries, with Lallana only making one Premier League start in 2017-18. He will now also be a serious doubt for the Reds' showdown with Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League quarter-final first leg in midweek.
