Giants Defense: Dominant Or Depleted
As we enter the sixth week of the NFL season, the 5-0 Giants prepare to face their fiercest opponent to date, the 4-0 New Orleans Saints.
It seems that every article I read questions whether or not the "depleted" Giant Defense is capable of holding back the fierce offensive attack of the Saints lead by Drew Brees. So I guess my question is, are the NY Giants dominant or depleted?
The Giants are ranked first in the NFL in six defensive categories:

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
· Fewest yards allowed per game (210.6)
· Fewest passing yards allowed per game (104.8)
· Fewest net passing yards allowed per play (3.74)
· Pass plays per sack (10.0)
· First downs per game (13.0)
· Third down efficiency (24.1 percent, 14 of 58).
The Giants' defense has dominated four of the five games played thus far. They held both Tampa Bay (58) and Oakland (64) to less than 65 passing yards. Is this the sign of a depleted defense?
With guys like Justin Tuck, Osi Umenyiora, Mathias Kiwanuka, Antonio Pierce, and Corey Webster I don’t understand how anyone can question this defense. There isn't a team in the NFL that wouldn't kill for a roster like this.
I understand that the Saints are by far the most challenging team the Giants will face thus far. My question is what more can be expected of the Giant defense than what they have accomplished to date? I think the defense will be the reason the Giants win on Sunday.
