"I've run into more people who said it was great. A lot of guys get up, they hug each other; cookie cutter. I'm not doing that. I don't care what people think about me. I really don't. I know who I am and what I'm about. My wife knows who I am. My children know who I am. My friends. That's all that matter to me. I'm the UFC heavyweight champion and I will be until the day I decide I don't want to be. And that isn't any time soon. This is my time. People can like it or not." - Brock Lesnar
Polarizing UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar looks back on his shocking behavior after a win over Frank Mir at UFC 100. Lesnar defeated Mir utilizing a stunning display of ground-and-pound which eventually forced a stoppage in the second round of the contest. The newly crowed undisputed heavyweight champion then proceed to flip off fans in attendance, trash a major UFC sponsor and stated that he was planning on sleeping with his wife later that night.
The mercurial champion later apologized for his actions claiming that his emotions got away from him, but seems to be back-tracking a bit on that apology in recent comments.
Lesnar (4-1) is set to take on undefeated contender Shane Carwin (11-0), who many have dubbed the anti-Lesnar, at UFC 106. Carwin called Lesnar out publicly after his national tirade and suggested that Lesnar had not earned the respect of a champion. Lesnar responded by calling out the quality of Carwin's opponents and his wrestling credentials.
The budding rivalry will reach its apex when the two giant heavyweights step inside the cage opposite one another in Las Vegas on Nov. 21.
