Travelers Championship 2017: Jordan Spieth Takes Down Daniel Berger in Playoff

Capping off a lackluster overall final day in which he shot even par, Spieth delivered one of the best shots of the tournament to secure the victory.
On the playoff hole, his drive hit a tree along the fairway and his approach landed in a bunker short of the green. With Berger poised to at least post a par, Spieth needed something special to keep his title hopes alive. He promptly holed out and earned a birdie. The PGA Tour offered a second look at the winning shot:
PGA Tour veteran Justin Thomas saw it coming:
ESPN.com's Jason Sobel thought the final sequence made for great drama:
Spieth's championship-winning chip encapsulated a final round in which he required some heroics to atone for self-inflicted wounds.
Berger headed for the 17th tee down a stroke to Spieth. With a birdie, he put himself on level footing with the two-time major winner. The PGA Tour showed that Berger knew exactly how much his birdie putt mattered:
Berger, who was in the second-to-last pairing, had to get out of the sand with an excellent chip on his third shot to salvage a par on the 18th hole. In the final pairing, Spieth looked to be in danger as well after his second-shot approach on 18 landed in a bunker in front of the green. The PGA Tour provided a replay of the shot:
Spieth recovered, getting out of the bunker and putting the ball within a few feet of the hole. His par putt found the bottom of the cup to force a sudden-death playoff. Golf on CBS showed Berger watching Spieth's putt from the clubhouse:
Spieth now has 10 career wins on the PGA Tour. According to ESPN Stats and Info, Tiger Woods is the only golfer with more victories (15) prior to age 24 after World War II.
Spieth was a runner-up at the 2014 Masters when he was 20 and won two major titles after turning 21. Because of how quickly he emerged as one of the best players in the world, it's easy to forget how young he still is.
During his prime, Woods set a standard that may not be matched by any other golfer. The fact Spieth only trails Tiger for most wins before turning 24 (post-World War II) is a testament to his massive potential.
