Joakim Lagergren and Joel Stalter share the 2017 BMW International Open lead after two rounds, as the duo sit one shot ahead of a large group of players.

The two have a score of nine-under after two days, while the likes of Henrik Stenson, Thomas Detry and others sit at eight-under.

Recap

Lagergren was among the early standouts and took the lead after a round of six-under, which included a run of three straight birdies to close out the back-nine.

As shared by the European Tour's official Twitter account, it was a good day for the Swede:

Lagergren recorded two bogeys but more than made up for it with a solid showing from the tee and in the approach game. He dealt well with the winds, the main reason why he opened up a gap over the rest of the field.

Stenson sat just one shot back after two rounds, courtesy of a round of three-under that featured just a single blemish. The two-time winner started on the 10th and kept his composure on the front-nine, while many of his competitors faltered.

The afternoon starters made a surge up the board early, as the wind seemed to become a little more consistent, and Sergio Garcia led the way, per the European Tour's official Twitter account:

After three straight birdies on the front-nine, his momentum died down a bit on the back-nine, but he still found himself in an excellent position, just one shot behind the leaders.

Detry wasn't nearly as impressive as he was on Thursday, when he shot seven-under, but a solid showing on the front-nine saved a lacklustre round and kept the Belgian in contention.

Stalter maintained his excellent form after a great opening round, grabbing a share of the lead thanks to a bogey-free back-nine.
