Angel Di Maria Reportedly Given Fine, 1-Year Suspended Jail Term for Tax Fraud
Paris Saint-Germain star Angel Di Maria will reportedly pay a €2 million fine to go with a one-year suspended prison sentence for tax fraud as part of a deal with Spanish authorities.
That's according to El Confidencial (via Jonathan Johnson of ESPN FC):

Per Johnson, the Argentina international was found guilty of two counts of fraud, with the offences taking place during his spell with Real Madrid.
The 29-year-old is the latest in a long line of players and coaches accused of dodging taxes in Spain.
Former team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo is among those charged, per A Bola (h/t Marca), and current Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho reportedly had a claim filed against him on Tuesday, per Reuters (via BBC Sport's Richard Conway). As shared by Dan Roan of BBC Sport, Mourinho has denied a claim has been filed.

As reported by the Daily Mirror's Ed Malyon and Liam Corless, Spanish prison sentences of less than two years can be served under probation provided the accused has no priors. Most footballers found guilty of tax fraud, including Barcelona's Lionel Messi, have received such punishments.
Di Maria left Madrid in 2014 for Manchester United. He moved to the French capital after just a single season at Old Trafford.
