WWE Raw: Burning Questions to Address After June 19 Show

Ryan DilbertJun 20, 2017

Braun Strowman shook up the red brand on Monday's WWE Raw.

The Monster of Men burst out of the back of an ambulance, marched down to the ring and put his hands around Roman Reigns' neck. The arrival of the previously injured Strowman affected both Great Balls of Fire and SummerSlam.

The former pay-per-view got itself a new marquee match, while the latter's lineup is less certain. Who will Strowman and Reigns be colliding with during summer's biggest event?

As for Alexa Bliss, SummerSlam seems worlds away. She doesn't even know who is facing her for the Raw Women's Championship at July's Great Balls of Fire.

Monday's Raw also brought up questions about how working for The Miz will change things around for Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel. Enzo Amore and Big Cass' futures are big unknowns, too. The two friends will now be venturing solo after a violent split on TV.

The following is a look at all those situations and the biggest questions to emerge from Monday's Raw.

Who Will Vie for Bliss' Title?

The Raw Women's Championship is the only title on the show without a clear top contender. The Hardy Boyz, Dean Ambrose and Samoa Joe are all charging toward their titleholding rivals.

Who Bliss will be facing, though, remains unsettled.

Things didn't get any clearer on Monday, either. A bout between Nia Jax and Sasha Banks ended in a no-contest when chaos erupted. Bliss, Emma, Bayley and the entire women's division got involved.

Is a rivalry for Bliss going to emerge from all this? Is WWE instead gearing up for a multiple-woman match where everyone is thrown together?

Great Balls of Fire will be here in only two weeks. There's not a ton of time to tell a story of redemption for Bayley or for someone to earn a spot opposite Bliss. Chances are, WWE takes the lazy route and just make the whole division compete in a Battle Royal or something.

That would be a placeholder option until WWE pushes a challenger to the top ahead of SummerSlam.

Can The Miz Elevate Axel and Dallas?

After months of inactivity, Axel and Dallas emerged on the Raw stage dressed in bear suits with their fists cocked.

The Miz offered each midcarder a spot in his entourage. They took him up on it, ambushing Ambrose for the IC champ. This comes after The Miz's onscreen relationship with his wife worsened yet again.

It appears that Maryse is out as his second and his new minions will replace her.

Can this be the ticket to Axel and Dallas gaining some traction? Can The Miz do for them what he did for Damien Sandow? Or is this going to be as unmemorable as The Social Outcasts?

Miami Herald columnist Scott Fishman has high hopes for the duo:

This alliance has tons of potential. Angry, frustrated versions of Axel and Dallas will now have a clear direction. The Miz can do the majority of the talking for them. And they can revamp their characters, taking on their boss' showy, Hollywood-inspired ways.

What's Next for Amore and Cass?

Cass and Amore are the latest set of friends to morph into enemies.

The big man revealed on Monday night that he was the mystery attacker who has ambushed Amore for the past few weeks. He barked about his tag team partner holding him back, about how he was tired of his antics.

Amore shed a tear. Big Cass clobbered him.

What now? Cass is poised for a solo run as a heel. He'll likely move up the card. Will WWE view him as a top-of-the-card guy, though?

And what of Amore? Will he slide into a manager role with someone else? Will he start teaming up with Big Show, turning the recent temporary alliance into a permanent one?

Cass' future feels more certain than Amore's. His size will open doors for him. He's likely to be the star of this upcoming rivalry between The Realest Guys in the Room.

Amore, though, will be better suited for a position where he does more talking than fighting.

Who Will Be Whose Stepping Stone?

Reigns told fans on Monday's Raw that he intends to challenge either Brock Lesnar or Samoa Joe for the Universal Championship at SummerSlam.

His plans quickly became more complicated, though, as Strowman returned with a vengeance. The Monster Among Men stormed back into Raw, laid out Reigns and challenged him to an Ambulance match at Great Balls of Fire.

Suddenly, what's in store for Lesnar, Joe, Strowman and Reigns at SummerSlam is up in the air.

If Strowman beats Reigns, does The Big Dog still go on to face the universal champ? That's not exactly logical. Does Strowman's win set up a date with Lesnar, leaving Joe and Reigns to go after each other?

WWE has a number of options on the table now. It can do the Lesnar-Reigns collision many assumed would be saved for WrestleMania. Joe can win the championship and face Reigns while a pissed-off Strowman takes on a pissed-off Lesnar in non-title action.

Every one of those avenues has plenty of appeal. This is a case where WWE really can't go wrong. We're going to get two major hoss fights at Great Balls of Fire followed by two more at SummerSlam.
