Florentino Perez Says No Cristiano Ronaldo Bids Made Amid Man United, PSG Talk
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has said the club are yet to receive a bid for Cristiano Ronaldo, and defended his player amid allegations he committed tax fraud.
He told Spanish radio station Onda Cero (h/t the Mirror's Joe Mewis): "The clause for Cristiano is £1 billion. We have not had an offer for Cristiano...the Sheikh at Paris Saint-Germain is a friend of mine, and he hasn't called me nor have we talked."
Perez added:

"It has affected me how the media treated Cristiano; the presumption of innocence was not respected.
"I believe everyone must comply with their tax obligations, and I know that Cristiano always does things the right way.
"Cristiano has the same corporate structure he had in England, where he spent many years without problems.
"I am sure that Cristiano complies with his tax duties, it must be a confusion that will be cleared."
The allegations against Ronaldo have led to speculation surrounding his future, with PSG linked with a move, per Mewis. According to Metro's Louis Sealey, Manchester United are also thought to be interested.
Ronaldo is said to want to leave Spain—and by extension, Real Madrid—after being accused of failing to pay £13 million in taxes. Guardian sport put together a video running through the situation thus far:
Per Kieran Canning of the Agence France-Presse, Perez said Los Blancos will help the situation unfold in a manner that benefits all parties, but that the club will not take responsibility for any sanctions placed on Ronaldo if found guilty:
According to Reuters' Richard Martin, Perez also admitted that the 32-year-old wields more power than himself or perhaps even the club itself:
Indeed, if Ronaldo wants to move on this summer, there may be little Real can do to stop him.
Squawka Football shared his stellar record with Los Blancos:
Given what he has achieved at the Santiago Bernabeu and his continued excellence despite his age, Ronaldo should have his pick of destinations in theory.
However, he can only leave Real provided there is a suitor willing to take on the astronomical costs of signing him, as he's unlikely to be prepared to take a pay cut.
His options are limited as a result, as United and PSG are perhaps the only clubs in Europe capable of shouldering that burden, even factoring in the commercial benefit his capture would bring to any club that signed him.
The Chinese Super League could be another option, but Ronaldo would be well aware that a move there at this stage would prevent him from competing for top honours and hinder his chances of winning individual awards such as the Ballon d'Or.
Further, the CSL has implemented a 100 per cent tax on all foreign transfers to clubs in debt, so he could cost double were he to go there.
In all likelihood, Ronaldo will be going nowhere this summer.
