Also, Washington and LSU were waiting in the wings to face the winners of those games on the heels of their victories Thursday.

Results

Oregon 4, LSU 1

Megan Kleist's dominant performance on Saturday night was enough to eliminate LSU from the tournament.

The Oregon Ducks pitcher gave up just one run on five hits, striking out nine, as Oregon won 4-1 and advanced to play on Sunday.

"Probably one of the best games she's thrown all year," Oregon manager Mike White said of Kleist's outing, per the Oregonian. "It's great to see her getting stronger. We're gonna need her to be strong tomorrow against a very good Oklahoma team."

Catcher Gwen Svekis provided all of the offense Oregon would need on the evening, blasting a two-run homer in the first inning. Nikki Udria and Mia Camuso would provide RBI singles later in the game to pad Oregon's lead.

The Ducks will face Oklahoma on Sunday, needing to win twice to stay alive in the tournament.

UCLA 8, Texas A&M 2

The fifth-seeded UCLA Bruins kept their championship hopes alive Saturday afternoon with an emphatic 8-2 win over the No. 9 Texas A&M Aggies.

UCLA jumped on Texas A&M early, as second baseman Kylee Perez hit a solo home run in the first inning, and the Bruins added two more runs in the second.

Delaney Spaulding's two-run single in the second gave UCLA the cushion it needed, as seen in this tweet courtesy of NCAA Softball:

The Bruins also benefited from a spectacular pitching performance by Rachel Garcia, who allowed just three hits, two walks and one run in six innings.

Garcia received some help from her defense, as Perez made a highlight-reel catch in the fourth inning with UCLA up 3-0:

The Aggies nearly made a game of it later in the fourth when third baseman Riley Sartain homered, but UCLA put it away in the top of the seventh.

The Bruins exploded for five runs, which included a two-run home run by Garcia.

While Celena Massey homered for Texas A&M in the bottom of the frame, the damage had already been done.

With the loss, Texas A&M was eliminated from the tournament, while UCLA lived to play for at least one more game, setting up a clash later in the day with Pac-12 rival Washington.

Oregon 7, Baylor 4

The No. 3 Oregon Ducks held off a furious comeback by the fifth-seeded Baylor Bears to avoid elimination and set the stage for a showdown against LSU later Saturday night.

Oregon scored two runs in each of the second and third innings before adding another in the fifth to take a 5-0 lead.

Just when it seemed as though Baylor was down and out, the Bears suddenly exploded for four runs in the bottom of the fifth.

They had been getting no-hit by Oregon pitcher Miranda Elish entering the frame, but they managed three hits and four runs.

Maggie Balint came on in relief for Oregon in the sixth, and she picked up a huge strikeout to send the game into the seventh and final inning:

The Ducks were clinging to a one-run advantage, but they were able to pad their lead thanks to the heroics of first baseman Mia Camuso.

After racking up two RBI earlier in the game, Camuso delivered a two-run double to make the score 7-4 in favor of Oregon:

Megan Kleist attempted to close the game out for Oregon, and she was perfect in the seventh with two strikeouts to eliminate Baylor from the tournament.

Oregon managed to oust a much lower seed, and the win gave them an opportunity to potentially beat another lower seed later in the night in the form of No. 13 LSU.

Washington 1, UCLA 0

In a pitching duel that yielded just one run, shortstop Ali Aguilar's home run in the sixth inning was the difference, as Washington defeated Pac-12 rival UCLA to advance to the semifinals of the Women's College World Series.

UCLA was eliminated with the loss, and the Huskies will have to beat top-seeded Florida twice Sunday in order to move on to the final.

Washington starting pitcher Taran Alvelo allowed just two hits and struck out seven in the game, and she was aided by some great defense.

It started in the second inning when left fielder Casey Stangel laid out to make a diving catch that would have gone for extra bases otherwise:

The game remained nip and tuck throughout until Aguilar finally produced the first and only run of the game with a deep homer to right field in the sixth.

Washington carried that lead into the bottom of the seventh, and Aguilar got the job done with her glove as well by making a difficult play look routine:

Alvelo then closed things out with a pair of fly outs to keep Washington's dreams of a Women's College World Series title alive.

While the win ensures the Huskies will play Sunday, the odds are against them in terms of beating the top team in the tournament twice in a row.
