Corey Coleman Suffers Undisclosed Injury Falling on Football at Browns OTAs
Cleveland Browns wide receiver Corey Coleman could be sidelined until training camp after falling on a football last week during organized team activities.
On Wednesday, Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com passed along comments from Browns head coach Hue Jackson, who confirmed the OTA injury was "a little tougher" than the team originally thought.
"Right now I'm going to keep him out for a little while and again, that was a tough spill for him," he said. "A little tougher than I thought but he's making his way through. You know Corey. He wants to be back out there right now but I just think now is the time if a guy is kind of banged up a little bit to make sure they take care of him so that we get him back for training camp. But we'll see how it all unfolds here at the end."

Jackson went on to say he wouldn't let Coleman back onto the practice field until he's 100 percent since there's plenty of time until the regular season gets underway. He wouldn't provide any further details about the exact ailment, but he confirmed it wasn't a broken bone, per Cleveland.com.
"I don't think it's sticking a guy out there if there is something that may be a little minor wrong with him so that all of a sudden it becomes something major and we get to training camp and we don't have him," the head coach said. "So we're going to play the cautious side of this and go from there."
In December, Daryl Ruiter of CBS Cleveland passed along comments from the 22-year-old Baylor product, who admitted his performance during his rookie season didn't reach his own expectations.
"I had big goals before the year and stuff and I didn't reach them and I know family and friends back home, they're really excited to see me play and stuff and I just feel like I let a lot of people down just being me," Coleman said.
Coleman is likely the top target among a makeshift Browns receiving corps, which remains without former star wideout Josh Gordon. The NFL denied Gordon's application for reinstatement earlier in the month, keeping him on indefinite suspension.
Kenny Britt, Rashard Higgins, Mario Alford and Jordan Payton are among the receivers who should see more time with the first-team offense until Coleman returns.
