Former Giants CB Leon Hall Reportedly Working out for 49ers in Free Agency
The San Francisco 49ers are reportedly eyeing veteran support in their defensive backfield.
Ian Rapoport of NFL.com reported Wednesday San Francisco will work out former Cincinnati Bengals and New York Giants defensive back Leon Hall.
San Francisco can use the help on defense considering it was dead last in the league in points allowed per game and a middling 14th against the pass in 2016. The result was an abysmal 2-14 record and last place finish in the NFC West.

Cincinnati drafted Hall with the No. 18 overall pick in 2007 after he achieved All-American status as a Michigan Wolverine. He played nine seasons for the Bengals and was a ballhawk in the early going with 18 interceptions in his first four years.
He appeared in 12 games for the Giants in 2016 and tallied one pick and two pass deflections.
While Hall's prime and days as a turnover-creating machine are likely in the rearview mirror at 32 years old, he could still provide veteran leadership to the 49ers' secondary. He also has five postseason games on his resume and could help instill a winning culture in San Francisco after the team missed the playoffs the last three seasons.
