John Madden Says He'd Hate to Take a Team to Las Vegas Before a Game
Ahead of the Oakland Raiders' move to Las Vegas, former Raiders head coach John Madden expressed some concern.
In an interview with SiriusXM NFL Radio (h/t ESPN.com's Paul Gutierrez), Madden said: "I would hate to be a coach to take a team in there. I would hate to have my team in Las Vegas on Saturday night before the game ... every team has a bottom 10 [players in terms of behavior]. ... I think there's going to be a lot of problems like that. I'd stay in Mohave [Arizona] or something."
The 81-year-old Madden also questioned if the franchise jumped into the relocation process before it had all the details figured out: "I'm not sure they have that whole deal together yet. I'm not sure that they even know exactly what the stadium is, how many, where it's going to be and all those things. For some reason, they jumped into that thing quickly."

The Hall of Fame head coach then went on to enjoy a legendary broadcasting career before retiring in 2009. He's also become a fixture to a new generation of fans thanks to his work with the Madden NFL video game franchise.
Although NFL owners voted 31-1 in favor of the Raiders' relocation, there is still plenty left to be figured out.
The Raiders will remain in Oakland for both the 2017 and 2018 seasons before moving into a new Las Vegas stadium in 2020, but it isn't yet known where they will play in 2019.
