Richard Sherman Reportedly Has Say in Seahawks Trade, Is Targeting Contender
Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman has been the subject of trade rumors in advance of the NFL draft, and he is reportedly taking a proactive approach.
Appearing on PFT Live, the Miami Herald's Armando Salguero disclosed Sherman is seeking an opportunity to contend for Vince Lombardi Trophies if he is eventually dealt.
"Richard Sherman is talking to some people," Salguero said, per Pro Football Talk's Michael David Smith. "He wants to play in Super Bowls or have a chance to compete in Super Bowls, so he has some degree of leverage as to where this train goes."

Salguero also reported Thursday the Seahawks' asking price for Sherman is "a very good player plus a high draft pick."
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport confirmed and provided more details: "Potentially a first-round pick. Potentially a very good player on a low contract and a pick as well."
The Seahawks have been transparent, with general manager John Schneider saying this Wednesday on 710 ESPN Seattle, per the Seattle Times' Bob Condotta: "What you've seen lately in the news is real. That's on both sides."
Sherman, 29, acknowledged the trade talks, but he pumped the breaks on an imminent move.
"Very little chance it happens, but both sides are listening," he said in a text message to The MMQB's Albert Breer. "I honestly don't have much more to say about it than what I've already said. We have a great relationship. … There is a lot of love and respect. There is no bad blood."
Sherman, a four-time All-Pro, is due base salaries of $11.4 million in 2017 and $11 million in 2018.
